Cricket Australia chief assures Pakistan tour will go ahead despite Covid-19 concerns

کرکٹ آسٹریلیا (سی اے) کے چیف ایگزیکٹیو نے اپنی ٹیم کے اگلے سال ہونے والے دورہ پاکستان کے بارے میں غیر یقینی صورتحال کو صاف کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ کوویڈ 19 کے خدشات کے باوجود دو طرفہ سیریز منصوبہ بندی کے مطابق آگے بڑھے گی۔

آسٹریلیا 3 مارچ سے شروع ہونے والی ایک ماہ طویل سیریز میں تین ٹیسٹ، تین ایک روزہ بین الاقوامی (ODI) اور ایک T20-20 انٹرنیشنل (T20I) میچ کھیلے گا۔ٹیسٹ میچز 3 سے 25 مارچ تک کراچی، راولپنڈی اور لاہور میں کھیلے جائیں گے جب کہ وائٹ بال کے چاروں میچز 29 مارچ سے 5 اپریل تک لاہور میں کھیلے جائیں گے۔

آسٹریلیا نے 1998 کے بعد سے پاکستان کا دورہ نہیں کیا اور دونوں ممالک کی ملاقات صرف آسٹریلیا، متحدہ عرب امارات اور انگلینڈ میں ہوئی ہے۔پی سی بی کے چیئرمین رمیز راجہ نے اس ہفتے کے شروع میں اس اعتماد کا اظہار کیا تھا کہ آسٹریلیا، انگلینڈ اور نیوزی لینڈ کے ساتھ اگلے سال شیڈول کے مطابق پاکستان کا دورہ کرے گا۔

پی سی بی کے آنے والے چیف آپریٹنگ آفیسر فیصل حسنین کے ساتھ بیٹھے ہوئے رمیز نے کہا، ’’ہم نے دنیا کو انٹرنیشنل کرکٹ کونسل کے اجلاسوں میں اپنی موجودگی کا احساس دلایا ہے۔‘‘انگلینڈ، جو اکتوبر میں اپنی مردوں اور خواتین کی ٹیم بھیجنے والی تھی - مردوں کی ٹیم کے ساتھ دو ٹوئنٹی 20 کھیلنے کی وجہ سے، پھر پاکستان کے سفر کے دوران اپنے کھلاڑیوں کی ذہنی صحت کے بارے میں خدشات کے باعث اپنی ٹیموں کو واپس لے لیا۔

اس وقت ایسا لگتا تھا کہ آسٹریلیا کا اگلے سال مارچ میں شیڈول دورہ بھی آگے نہیں بڑھے گا۔

یہ سب اس وقت شروع ہوا جب نیوزی لینڈ نے سیکیورٹی الرٹ کا حوالہ دیتے ہوئے ستمبر میں اچانک اپنا دورہ پاکستان ترک کر دیا تھا، جس سے پاکستان کی باقاعدہ بین الاقوامی کرکٹ کے انعقاد کی امیدوں کو بڑا دھچکا لگا تھا۔

یہ دورہ 17 ستمبر 2021 کو راولپنڈی میں تین ایک روزہ میچوں میں سے پہلے کے ساتھ شروع ہونا تھا لیکن نیوزی لینڈ کی ٹیم نے اسٹیڈیم کا سفر نہیں کیا۔نیوزی لینڈ کی کرکٹ ٹیم 18 سال میں پہلی بار تین ون ڈے اور پانچ ٹی ٹوئنٹی انٹرنیشنل کھیلنے کے لیے 11 ستمبر کو پاکستان پہنچی تھی۔نیوزی لینڈ کے خلاف ون ڈے سیریز راولپنڈی اسٹیڈیم میں کھیلی جانی تھی جس کے میچز 17، 19 اور 21 ستمبر کو شیڈول تھے جب کہ قذافی اسٹیڈیم 25 ستمبر سے 3 اکتوبر تک پانچ ٹی ٹوئنٹی میچز کی میزبانی کرنے والا تھا۔
